Cat and Dog Euthanasia Services

Few things are more complex than saying goodbye to a beloved pet, but at Kelly Veterinary Clinic in Adrian, we aim to make it as easy and peaceful as possible. When they’re a part of the family, dogs and cats become much more than pets.

Pet Euthanasia

They’re devoted companions who accompany us on our travels through life, offering their particular kind of unconditional love. We believe in making their last moments comfortable and dignified and giving their caring families a chance to see them off on their final journey.

How Do I Know When it’s Time to Say Goodbye?

We understand all the “what ifs” and “what about” that arise, along with the reluctance to act. These feelings are normal, and our team of experts are here to help you make decisions.

Determining Your Pet’s Quality of Life

Quality of life is a huge decision when figuring out the next step. When is euthanasia the solution? Here are some questions to ask yourself when you’re home with your pet:

  • Have they stopped eating and drinking?
  • Are they struggling to stand and walk despite undergoing treatment to improve it?
  • Do they seem to be in considerable pain, despite taking medications to relieve it?
  • Do they show a noticeable lack of interest in their usual activities, such as walks, playtime, snuggling, etc.?
  • Are they spending most of their time sleeping?
  • Do they have an ongoing illness that has not improved with treatment and an overall poor prognosis?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, please contact us to help you decide on the best action to alleviate your pet’s suffering.

What to Expect During a Euthanasia Appointment

Once you have decided to move forward with humane euthanasia, we’ll help you set up an appointment on the day and time of your choosing. We will accommodate all your wishes to the best of our ability and give you all the privacy and time you need to bid farewell to your companion.

After Care

We recommend having a plan in place regarding the handling of your pet’s remains. We enlist the services of a local crematorium to handle remains and provide urns, clay paw prints, and other keepsakes for families who want to memorialize their cherished pets.
