Providing Advanced Surgery Services toDogs and Cats

At Kelly Veterinary Clinic, we approach pet surgery with the same level of care and concern for safety that you would expect at the best human hospital.

Pet Surgery

While surgery is not necessarily an exciting prospect for any pet parent, know that our team will always put your pet’s needs and comfort first. We use the most advanced techniques and technology in our surgical suite to perform a variety of surgeries, which can improve (and in some cases, save) the lives of our patients. In addition, we frequently partner with our sister hospital to provide orthopedic and endoscopic procedures.

We Tailor All Our Safety Protocols to Your Pet’s Needs

Surgery for dogs and cats carries its share of risks, just like human surgery. Yet, we take various measures to minimize these risks as much as possible, including:

  • A physical exam and full blood testing* for dogs and cats prior to surgery to check for signs of health issues and evaluate organ function
  • Measuring anesthetics, fluids, and medications according to your pet’s weight and medical history
  • Strict and comprehensive sterilization techniques
  • Continuously monitoring your pet’s vitals including blood pressure, oxygen saturation, ECG, and more
  • Keeping your pet warm during their surgery to prevent hypothermia
  • Monitoring your pet after surgery to make sure they awaken comfortably

*Blood panels are required for pets older than 7. For pets under 7 years old, we assess cell volume and blood sugar as a baseline.
